Walden Yu, DDS
Walden Yu was born and raised in Southern California. He graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and received his dental degree from USC. His post-graduate education in Pediatric Dentistry was completed at USC with a hospital residency at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Yu is a diplomate and fellow of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a Subject Matter Expert in Pediatric Dentistry for the State of California. Dr. Yu is a member of various dental organizations including the American Dental Association®, California Dental Association, West Los Angeles Dental Society, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Academy of Laser Dentistry and is a member of the national dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
He enjoys tennis, hiking, camping, biking, leisure reading, tai chi and especially arts and crafts. And “yes” he did put together all the décor and puzzles in the office.
Mae Aghili, DDS
Dr. Mae Aghili is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, making her a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Mae Aghili obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She earned her D.D.S. degree from the University of Southern California (USC), where she dedicated much of her time to treating children of underserved areas. She was a staff member with the USC Mobile Clinic, Ayuda, and Children’s Dental Clinic.
Upon completing dental school, Dr Aghili went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at UCLA. She then went into private practice treating adults and children in greater Los Angeles. Dr. Aghili’s lifelong passion of working with children led her to complete a two year specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at USC and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. This vast experience allowed her to treat infants and children with extensive medical and physical illnesses.
Dr. Mae believes that all children deserve to have excellent care, and she strives to create a positive and supportive environment for children of all ages. She believes that a patient’s first dental visit should be a pleasant one. She believes in the power of prevention and has a family-centered approach.
Dr. Aghili is currently a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Los Angeles Dental Society.
Lawerence Lin, DDS
Dr. Lin was born and raised in Southern California. He completed his undergraduate studies at UCLA, graduating summa cum laude and then went on to complete dental school and his orthodontic residency at UCLA with a master’s degree in oral biology, making him a three-time Bruin. During his 10+ years at UCLA, he mentored and tutored disadvantaged youth and started a program to improve oral hygiene in disadvantaged teenagers in Los Angeles schools and communities. Dr. Lin is also a member of the
American Association of Orthodontists®, the American Dental Association, and the California Association of Orthodontists.
His love for orthodontics stems from both his desire to create beautiful smiles and the connections that come from working with patients and their families. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, reading, cooking and spending time with his wife and puppy, Wynnie.
Katarina Calilung, DDS
Dr. Katarina Calilung, also known as Dr. Kat, is a board-certified pediatric dentist. She attended dental school at the University of Southern California, where she found a passion for pediatric dentistry through community dental clinics. While in dental school, Dr. Kat provided dental care to children in underserved communities both locally in Southern California and internationally in countries including the Philippines, Belize, Cambodia and Nicaragua. She then went on to complete advanced training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Southern California and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. During residency, Dr. Kat provided dental care to children of all ages and received extensive training in safely providing dental care for children with various special health care needs.
Dr. Kat aims to provide a positive and welcoming dental experience for every child. She strongly believes in the importance of preventing oral disease, along with creating a personalized dental plan to address each child’s unique needs.
Dr. Kat is currently a member of the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Dental Association and West Los Angeles Dental Society. In her free time, Dr. Kat enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. As a Southern California native, she loves to be by the beach and stays active with yoga and indoor cycling.
Dulce Rebolledo – Office Manager & RDA (Registered Dental Assistant)
Dulce has been an RDA for over 10 years and loves it! She especially loves making little ones comfortable at the dentist and she she excels at this since she has worked with children for many years. Her experience of working with children started during her senior year of high school with the Future Educators teaching PE (physical education) at a local elementary school. Then in college, she worked in a daycare. She has always enjoy caring for children and treat our patients like she would her own family. In her spare time, she loves to camp with her family at Sequoia National Forest.
Graciela Muñoz – Patient Financial Services Representative
For around three years, Graciela has been working at Walden Yu, DDS, APC. Each day she resolves insurance and payment-related questions. She tries to make sure no one leaves the office with any unanswered questions.
Graciela enjoys the friendly atmosphere at our office. Everyone is friends with everyone. When a patient comes to Walden Yu, DDS, APC, they want to keep coming here.
Janeth Guardado – Registered Dental Assistant
For over five years, Janeth has been working in the dental field. Four of those years have been spent with Walden Yu, DDS, APC. She is currently attending West LA college with the goal of applying to the dental hygiene program.
Quality patient care is Janeth’s goal at work. She genuinely enjoys working with the kids who come to our office. Janeth helps each patient to feel comfortable at our office. She helps each one to go through their procedures in an easy, peaceful way.
In her free time, Janeth likes to keep up to date with new movies. She also enjoys trying new foods.
Jose Pena – Orthodontic Assistant
Jose has been with our team for two years, and has more than 13 years of experience as an orthodontic assistant. He loves being part of our dental family and caring for people in our office and in our community.
Jose grew up in Culver City and graduated from the high school here in this area. He has a wonderful wife and daughter with whom he spends all his free time. He enjoys taking his daughter to the arcade, mini golfing, going on road trips, camping and playing videos games.
